Do not buy a computer at Amazon. If you do not like it, there is a restocking fee.
Sometimes saving a few dollars if it is that much is not value it.
In today’s day in age, you can find just as excellent buys or better locally. Sorry I did not. Just trying to stay away from the crowds, not smart.
Battery life is way to small. HP has many models with longer battery life.
The speakers sound excellent if you can only hear them, the volume is way too soft at max settings.
The machine’s main advantage is as a show viewer. The image is clean and astute.
It has a few disadvantages the main being that the keyboard, supposedly touch pad misses out calligraphy on the screen. My other laptop is a dated IBM Thinkpad (which I am by now) and the key board outshines the new HP.
I also use the computer with a head set for Skype. Again the sound quality, particularly on the part of the recipient is poor. The ancient IBM is far superior.
Whether the HP G60 is excellent for you will depend upon your needs. If you require traditional computer functions such as keyboard for word etc, it does not match up to my expectations. If you want it more as an entertainment center, then it as an improvement on my previous develop.
I estimate my ten year ancient daughter won out. She uses it all the calculate to watch “Merlin”, whilst I am still banging the keybord on the ancient IBM!
This laptop has everything my son questioned for in a computer. He uses it every day.
i bought this hp junk and it has given me nothing more than headaches.
so, i chose to get rid of it and go sony.
dealing with the hp “total care” incompetents is a nightmare.
those people have no thought what they talk about + they charge for everything even if the product is groundbreaking new.
it made me sick.
i only hope that hp goes bust soon.
i am, from now on, boycotting all hp harvest. hp will never get any penny from me.
what do they reckon? probably that they did us a favor selling to us customers.
this item has been faulty only after 4 months after hold and they have not been able to give
me a satisfactory response.
i will certainly shop somewhere else.
one word of advice; total care means “NO CARE”.
fortunately we do have options when it comes to harvest.
no more hp.
hp means INCOMPETENT PEOPLE.
Bought this 30 days ago from Staples. This product has been a fantastic disappointment. Nothing facility properly and never did. Sometimes it won’t start at all, it is overloaded with junk programs you don’t want or need. The mouse and buttons are too sensitive. This morning it died. Probably the worst piece of junk I’ve ever bought in my life. Commencement to reckon the HP name is garbage.
Now I see some recent reviews with akin issues, something is incorrect with these laptops, but like the Toyota’s, they will probably ignore it, corporate management these days sucks, what happened to standing behind your harvest?
Just got off the phone with HP, the hard drive is exhausted, they are sending me a new one, but it only lasted 30 days, and the issues others have with it not starting, etc are probably still there.
update 3/09/10– now it has a new hard drive, about 14,000 updates and it will not operate all devices, sometime between last night and today it turned them off, wireless doesn’t function and Staples is giving me BS DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM STAPLES, they do not stand behind their harvest, they give a 14 day take in unless you pay about as much as 2 laptops for additional coverage.
Not to mention tech support for HP in India is horrible, these are not IT people, they are reading from a guide and it takes hours, I have lost probably 48 hours just dealing with this, oh, and I’m typing this on my ancient PC, because my groundbreaking new HP will not function as it should.
